If the vehicle you are calling about appears to be inoperable, for example, missing crucial vehicle parts like the engine, wheels, or other required equipment to operate on a public roadway, please enter the vehicle description and location. Please include a license plate number if available.
If the vehicle you are calling about appears to be stolen, for example, ignition damage and stripped interior, please contact our Dispatch non-emergency line at 510-790-6800, option 3.
Major parking violations (e.g. red zone, handicap parking, completing blocking a driveway, etc.) will continue to be enforced, as time/resources allow.
The California Vehicle Code and the Fremont Municipal Code authorize the towing of any vehicle parked or stored on any public roadway for more then 72 consecutive hours. 72 hours from the time of the issuance of a warning notice a vehicle will be subject to citation and/or will be removed and stored at the owner's expense. Incidental moving of the vehicle does not comply with the requirements of the ordinance. The vehicle must be driven a significant distance and the odometer reading must reflect this. If you have deferred your vehicle registration (referred to as Plan Non-Op) your vehicle must be removed from the roadway. If your vehicle lacks an engine, transmission, tires / wheels, or any other part or equipment to operate safely on the highway it may be removed immediately, without warning, at the owner's expense.
Abatement Process
If your vehicle and/or parts are parked on private property and is declared to be abandoned, wrecked, dismantled or inoperative it is in violation of the City of Fremont abatement ordinance.
