Obtain Police Department Approval for ABC Licenses application
IMPORTANT: The Fremont Police Department does not issue any ABC licenses. The Police Department provides approval on your application so that you can obtain an ABC license from the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control. Any questions regarding ABC licenses should be directed to the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control.
Daily ABC License for Special Events
Special event organizers required to obtain a Daily ABC License must must obtain approval from their local law enforcement agency. Due to holiday volumes and City Office Curtailment, additional time is needed for the City and the Police Department's review of Daily ABC license applications between November and January.
Note Special Holiday Review Timeline for ABC licenses:
- Events from November 20 - December 19, submit to Police Department for approval by November 1
- Events from December 20 - January 19, submit to Police Department for approval by December 1
- All others should be submitted to the Police Department at least 15 business days for approval

There is no fee for the Fremont Police Department to approve your application. Once approved, you must submit your application directly to the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control. to obtain the actual license. Fees apply to the actual license, which is collected and issued by the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control.
